Downright Gabbler

Here at the Downright Gabbler we are not simply a restaurant.  We offer beautiful food and stock a wide range of drinks, with the emphasis on local produce.  Then we add some Scottish culture and history to the mix, serving up stories along with our meals.

Our events tend to have a theme and vary from a seven course Highland Banquet with a romp through 12,000 years of Highland history to a dinner celebrating the history and characters behind Scotch Whisky. We like to say we’re feeding curious minds. 

We offer lunch, afternoon tea and various dinner options – you can check out dates for each event on our website. They’re at a fixed time with a set menu, although we offer vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options with 24 hours’ notice.  So why not enjoy great food, drink and entertainment, all in one package?  A perfect experience on your holiday, for a special celebration, or simply because you like the best of Scottish food and drink. 

We have four self catering apartments upstairs so you can stay and dine – no need to worry about finding a taxi to take you home.
