Jean Luc Laot started Gateaux Regal in 1990 after relocating from Brittany to the seaside town of Nairn. He places the emphasis on traditional French patisserie and gateaux, now supplied to hotels, restaurants and shops throughout the north of Scotland. His fresh cream gateaux, cakes, croissants and pastries can also be found the first Saturday of each month at Inverness Farmers’ Market, and at Elgin Farmers’ Market, usually the third Saturday of the month.
