Glachbeg Croft Centre

About

Glachbeg Croft Centre sits on 14 acres of land on the Black Isle, just north of Inverness. A working farm, our principle business is providing support and opportunities to people with additional support needs, using the context of the farm to help teach life skills and responsibilities to the people we work with. On the farming front we have a herd of Shetland cattle and a mixed flock of sheep. We’re working towards achieving self-suffiency with the livestock; using different grazing techniques to improve hay and haylage yields, reducing our use of manufactured hard feed hugely. We are creating wildlife-friendly environments and experimenting with organic fertilisers to further reduce our environmental impact. We produce a quantity of high-quality, grass-fed meat each year, which can be purchased depending on availability.
