Glenfiddich Distillery

About

Glenfiddich Distillery was built, by hand, by William Grant and his seven sons and two daughters in 1886. The build took just one year, and it was named ‘Valley of the Deer’ in Gaelic. Along with its sister distillery, Balvenie, it is one of the few remaining with its own team of coppersmiths to tend the stills, and its own cooperage for the casks. Glenfiddich was the first single malt to be marketed outside Scotland, and holds the record for the most expensive bottle of single malt sold at auction – one of eleven bottles of Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve to be released worldwide. You’re more likely to get your hands on the core range, made up of 12, 15, 18 and 21 years old and 14 year old Glenfiddich Rich Oak. A Special Edition range and Rare and Vintage bottles make up the full output.
