A family business since 1979, Harry Gow’s main focus has historically been baking. They still make bread and rolls using a traditional long, slow fermentation, as well as making cakes and confectionery from scratch, with no pre-mixes – from the jams to the buttercream, icing to caramel. In 2012 Harry Gow were named the first ever Scottish Baker of the Year.In 2005 Harry Gow bought Capaldi’s. Made with no artificial flavours (but no longer to the original Capaldi’s recipe), they now serve a range of ice cream sundaes in their coffee shops in Alness, Tain and Dornoch.
