Isle of Raasay Distillery

The first legal distillery on the Isle of Raasay off the West coast of Scotland, just a short ferry ride of 25 minutes from Sconser on the Isle of Skye. Producing both Single Malt Scotch whisky and gin since 2017, we distill, mature and bottle all of our spirit on the island, ensuring quality, care and provenance in every step. There is also a 5* Visitor Centre and 4* luxury accommodation in Borodale House at the heart of the distillery, with 30% of the island’s population employed in all aspects of the business. 

Our Single Malt is an expression of our Hebridean island home, with a fragrant smokiness intertwined with subtle dark fruit flavours to encapsulate the style of older Hebridean whiskies, but in a younger spirit. We use only the finest ingredients such as 100% Scottish barley, and water that flows down from the hills on Raasay and dug up from our own well on site, Tobar na Ba Bàine (The Well of the Pale Cow).

The Isle of Raasay Distillery offers tours seven days a week, and all are scheduled to fit with the ferry timetable, making it an easily accessible trip for everyone. Borodale House also offers lunch and dinner on selected days throughout the week and breakfast everyday for in-house guests. There is a brand new tasting bar with a range of drinks from exclusive Raasay whiskies, locally brewed beers, soft drinks, and in-house cocktails, ensuring there is something for every taste.
