The salmon farm was the first in the UK to attain RSPCA Freedom Foods approval, for rearing policies that include a unique one-year fallowing system and low stocking densities. Loch Duart’s smoked salmon has a reputation for being some of the finest in Scotland, winning the Fish & Seafood Retail prize at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards 2012. In 2008, Loch Duart bought Salar smokehouse and continued to produce their much loved flaky smoked salmon.
